The focus of an exhibition is on Van’s demonstration of horsemanship concepts and techniques, rather than on education through verbal teaching. Retreats:
As part of Van’s ongoing commitment to new and innovative ways of communicating the ideas he’s so passionate about, we’ve developed the all-new “The Horse is My Teacher” retreats. Designed as a more intimate group experience, the retreats are a true horsemanship-focused getaway. Participants bring their horses and enjoy a true retreat experience, tailored to the participants’ specific needs and interests — small-group instruction on a variety of horsemanship skills, trail rides with Van (where facilities permit), “classroom” sessions where Van shares the lessons that horses have taught him about “human-ship,” and campfire discussion and sharing times. Retreats may be scheduled for any period from a long weekend to a week long event and may be open to the public or exclusively for members of a sponsoring club or organization. Public Speaking:
A gifted speaker, Van does not need to have a horse nearby in order to educate, entertain, inspire, and motivate. Van is available to speak to groups of any size, from a local 4H club’s monthly meeting to a civic group luncheon to a major organization’s annual convention. The available topics are as limitless as your imagination. Van particularly enjoys and excels at tying the principles behind his horsemanship approach to everyday life.
